Fire pits and patio tables

Shelf: Under-grill mats
Cut for: Fire pits and patio tables

Sparks pop past the screen when dry oak catches, and fat drips when you cook over coals. We sew this ground mat with silicone-coated fiberglass and a ceramic fiber core so wood decks and stone patios stay clean underneath. It rolls out flat and catches the mess.

Ceramic fiber core

The interior layer combines ceramic fibers with dense fiberglass cloth. It gives the pad enough body to lay flat on cedar planks or concrete without bunching up when you nudge the legs.

Coated outer faces

Silicone covers both sides of the woven fiberglass sheet. The smooth surface stops oil drips and stray grease from soaking through into the weave, so you can wipe the pad clean with an old rag.

Reflective edge trim

High-visibility strips wrap the outer border so the edge shows up under porch lights after sundown. It marks the ground area clearly when folks walk around the fire pit table in the dark.

Storage and washing

Ash sweeps right off the top with a soft hand brush once the coals go cold. When the weekend is over, rinse the pad with a garden hose, let it air dry, and fold it for the shelf.
