Cold wind off the lake can stall a small camp burner before the coffee pot even gets warm. We build this aluminum burner with a low shield around the ring to block drafts. It runs on the small camping cylinder tucked inside or a larger tank hooked to the included hose.

Shield around the flame

A raised guard rings the aluminum burner head to keep breezes from scattering the heat. The ring has small ports spaced around the circle so heat spreads across the bottom of the skillet instead of pooling in the middle.

Fuel line choices

Set a small canister inside the compartment with the lock lever, or run the adapter hose out to a larger tank sitting beside the table. The dial controls output across the full turn without needing a match to start.

Removable enameled top grate

Grease and boil-overs bake hard onto camp gear. The top support grate lifts off in one piece and has a smooth porcelain finish, so scrubbing burned soup off the metal at the campsite sink takes very little effort.

Hardshell travel box

The whole burner drops flat into a black case with molded latches and an integrated handle. It keeps the dial and ignition knob from catching on other gear when packed under the bench of a truck.
