Fire pits and patio tables

Shelf: Fire pit covers
Size: 36"D x 24"H
Cut for: Fire pits and patio tables

Rain pooled in the bottom of a cold fire bowl turns old ash into black mud. We sew this cover from coated cloth to shed weather over the ledge and the center pan. Pull it across the tabletop once the metal cools down completely.

Coated cloth shell

The fabric carries a smooth inner coating to stop morning frost, driving rain, and winter snow from soaking through. Double stitching along the main seams helps the panels hold under heavy ice.

Buckles at the base

Strong gusty days pull hard on broad flat tops. Corner straps snap around the legs while an adjustable cord around the lower hem draws the fabric tight enough to stay put through wind.

Built in vents

Side vents let trapped air drift out from underneath the skirt so moisture does not sit against the metal bowl or the table frame. They also keep the fabric from billowing like a sail.

Checking the table outline

Run a tape measure across the widest edge of your tabletop and down to the patio stones before picking a shape. You want the hem to hang low without bunching on the wet ground.
