Leaving an offset smoker out through the winter hardens the grease and rusts the firebox seams. We sew this cover from heavy coated fabric shaped around the barrel, the side firebox, and the smoke stack. Pull it down over the cold steel and cinch the base before the rain starts.

Heavy coated cloth

The fabric has a smooth outer face that sheds rain and grit. Dust wipes off with a wet rag when you pull the cloth off for a weekend cook.

Cut for the offset barrel

The seams follow the main cook chamber and drop down over the side firebox. Check the shape of your stack and side box before pulling it over the metal.

Vents along the upper seam

Two hooded vents let damp air escape from inside the cloth after a storm. That keeps condensation from sitting against the raw iron lid all week.

Fastening straps at the bottom

A lower drawstring and side straps pull the hem tight around the legs and wheels. Strong gusts will not lift the corners or balloon the fabric.
