Pellet cookers sit out in the weather with electronics and wood fuel inside the body, so the shell needs to shed water. We sew this cover from coated Oxford cloth with taped double seams and cinches around the lower frame. It drops over the chimney and the side hopper in one pass.

Heavy coated Oxford cloth

The woven fabric carries a water barrier on the inside face. It bends without cracking on cold mornings and sheds rain before it can soak through to the hopper lid.

Cut for the barrel outline

We patterned the fabric to follow the stack, the hopper box, and the rounded barrel body. It rests flat over the edges so wind cannot catch loose fabric and whip it around the legs.

Side clips and drawcord

Side buckles snug the midsection against the cabinet, while the lower cord gathers the hem around the wheels. Gusts pass around the barrel instead of lifting the skirt.

Wipe clean and fold

Pollen and ash wash off with water from the garden hose and a rag. Let the cloth dry in the sun, then fold it flat onto a garage shelf when the smoker is cooking.
