Slow roasting a whole bird over coals takes steady turning that nobody wants to do by hand. We built this coated steel ring to seat directly onto the rim of your round kettle charcoal grill. The spit slides into the motor bracket so you can close the lid and let the meat self-baste over indirect heat.

Coated steel ring

We press the circular collar from heavy steel and finish it in black heat-resistant coating. It rests between the bottom kettle bowl and your existing lid, raising the dome enough to clear whole birds and large roasts.

Electric drive motor

The plugged motor slides straight onto the steel mounting bracket on the side of the collar. It turns the spit rod at a steady pace through hours of cooking so meat bastes itself without needing balance weights.

Spit forks and rod

Two multi-prong meat forks slide along the central rod to pin chickens or roasts firmly in place. Tighten the thumbscrews by hand once the meat is centered so nothing slips as the motor turns over hot coals.

Checking the kettle rim

Measure across the open rim of your round charcoal grill before ordering to match the collar size. The ring drops right onto standard round kettle edges without drilling new holes or modifying your grill.
