Sun and wet weather break down thin tarps in a couple of seasons. We stitch this one from dense outdoor fabric backed with a silver coating to shed rain and block summer heat. It drops over the lid and side shelves of the larger cabinet grills we list below.

Fabric with silver backing

Rain rolls off the outer face while the inner polyurethane layer handles heat and keeps wet grime away from the cookbox. The material stays supple when the patio gets cold in late autumn.

Cut for cabinet grills

The seams follow the outline of wide cooktops with both side shelves extended. You pull it down over the hood, let it hang straight to the wheels, and pull the sides taut.

Straps on both sides

Hook-and-loop closures sit low on the flanks so you can cinch the middle. That keeps a gust from getting underneath, ballooning the fabric, and tossing it across the lawn.

Airflow around the base

Vents let damp air escape from inside the hood rather than trapping moisture against the cold cast iron or steel grates after a storm. Check the footprint we list below before choosing.
