Wire bristles snap and shed into the grease pan over time, so we built this head out of heat-tolerant aramid fiber instead. Dip the head in water and bring it straight down on warm grates. The steam lifts the crust while the fiber pad molds around the steel bars.

Aramid fiber pad

The thick pad will not shed metal wires onto your cooking surface. It softens as it meets warm grates, wrapping around the curves of round rods or flat cast iron to wipe away sticky marinades.

Integrated steel blade

Charred drippings that bake hard need a solid edge before the pad can do its work. We notched a stainless blade into the nose of the tool so you can chip away stubborn carbon crust first.
